One cannot write a history of Whixall and not mention its ‘businesses‘. This is not the business of the Moss and peat extraction, but others that have become synonymous with the Parish. They are:

• L. Forrester (Transport) Ltd, based at Dobson’s Bridge
• Furber Car Dealers & Dismantlers, based at Morris’s Bridge
• Brown’s of Wem, who, despite the name, reside within the Parish at Four Lands End.
• Black Prince Narrow Boats, Whixall marina

Without wishing to appear disingenuous there have been /are, obviously, other businesses within Whixall. If you think yours qualifies as ‘historical’ please do contact us and we’ll be happy to make space.
